Awards for the films in competitive sections:
- Awards for the International Competition
- "Golden Lamp Tree Award" for best Short/Documentary Film in International Competition - Cash prize of Rs. 5 Lacs. (USD 12,000 approx)
- "Silver Lamp Tree Award" - Cash prize of Rs. 3 Lacs. (USD 7,000 approx)
- "Special Jury Prize" - Cash prize of Rs. 2 Lacs. (USD 4,500 approx)
- Award for the Competition on Films on Environmental Issues
"Vasudha Award for the best film on Environmental Issues" - a Cash prize of Rs. 3 Lacs. (USD 6,500 approx)

- Entry requirements
- All films completed after August 31, 2009
- Any genre of film (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental) for competition.
- For the Environmental section, film related/ concerned to Environmental issues only.
- Films of 60 minutes or less are eligible.
- Films produced on any format can be submitted to the pre selection committee on a DVD or via online submission at www.withoutabox.com or www.reelport.com via shipping to the postal address with the entry form duly signed.

- Selected films will be requested in the screening format (Digital Beta for International Competition and Vasudha Award - the Environment category, DVD copies for all other registered films).
- Film/s should be submitted by one of the film's right holders.
- Industrial or commercial/corporate films are not accepted.
- Although participants enjoy freedom of expression in creating their works, their productions must not either in the film or associated posters and documentation:
- Contain hateful, racist, sexist, offensive or defamatory statements.
- Cause harm to anyone.
- Constitute an invasion of privacy.
- The Short Film Center reserves the right to refuse the registration of any work/film/person or institution for violating any of the above.
- Participants must be the authors of the works; any plagiarism will result in automatic disqualification.
- The accreditation granted by registering a short film at the Short Film Center is exclusively reserved to: directors, screenwriters or actors of the registered short film, companies specifically dedicated in producing, distributing or broadcasting the registered short film, institutions, associations and professional organizations specifically dedicated in the registered short film's promotion.
- Entry procedures and selection
- Participants have the option to enter their films via online submission website www.withoutabox.com or www.reelport.com or send a DVD or VHS (PAL format) copy to the Short Film Center address.
- One still from the film or more (either color or black and white depending on the film - no poster), which can be used in any publication, and a photo of the director(s), with permission for their use, as well as a list/transcription of the dialogue in both the original version and an English translation must be attached to the online submission.
- Please specify clearly in the Entry Form, if you want the film to be considered for the International Competition / Vasudha Award - Competition for films on Environmental Issues or the Short Film Center Registration only i.e. for the market only. The films failing to enter the competition sections will be considered for registration at Short Film Center. Please tick the option, if you still want your film to be considered for registration, if not selected for competitions.
- Films that are not in English language should be compulsorily subtitled in English language.
- The entry form must be printed, signed and sent to the Short Film Center office by post.
- Entry will only be valid upon reception of these documents, by October 10, 2010 at the latest
(PLEASE NOTE: Films received after this date will in no way be considered).
- The list of the selected films for the two sections will be available on the Short Film Center's website from October 15, 2010.
- Short Film Center
All the films submitted will be listed in the Short Film Center catalogue (paper and Internet versions). This catalogue will be shared with a number of short and documentary film festivals.
- Publication authorization
By submitting a film, all Participants give Entertainment Society of Goa the authorization to publish in the Short Film Center and other catalogues and publications, as well as on the www.shortfilmcenter.com website, all the information, including photos, entered during online submission and for which the Participants are solely responsible. Also the Short Film Center /Entertainment Society of Goa will share the information with its Publicity partners.
- Return of prints
All copies can be personally collected by the Producers latest by November 30th, 2009 from the Short Film Center office. Copies for the competition sections will be retained by ESG Film Archive for cultural, non-commercial, non profit festival and archival screenings in future.
- Shipping and Insurance
- The films must arrive at the Festival office by November 1, 2010 at the latest. Shipping costs must be paid by the Participants.
- Insurance costs covering the period between receipt and screening will be paid for by the Short Film Center. In case of loss or damage during this time, the responsibility of the Short Film Center is limited to covering the costs for replacement of the print/DVD etc.
- Complaints regarding the condition of film prints must be made within 10 days after the date of collection.
- Directors whose films are selected will be invited to participate at the Short Film Center from November 23rd to December 1st 2010.
- Hotel accommodation will be provided only to either the Producer or the Director of a single selected entry.
- Only one director per film will be invited.
- The Short Film Center Invitation is not transferable to a third person.
- Television broadcasting and the Internet
Participation in the Short Film Center implies giving Indian and Foreign Television channels telecast rights to broadcast/telecast extracts either in full (in which case there would be a nominal fee for the producer) or limited to 10% of the total length) of the film. This regulation applies equally for the Internet; Short Film Center can also screen the film on the partner TV Channel.
- Archive
The Entertainment Society of Goa is building an archive of films in Goa. To this effect, all DVD's submitted to the Festival are kept and may be transferred to digital or any other format for improved storage purposes. They can be viewed freely in the Goa Film Archive - the Resource Centre by the participants.
- Prolongation of the Short Film Center
Programmes composed of films from the official selection (especially prize-winning ones) may be circulated after the Festival for its promotion in India and abroad.
- Purchase of film prints
The ESG may request the producer for the right to acquire a print of any film selected, and especially prize-winning films, for its Film Archive. The ESG undertakes to use these films exclusively for its own strictly cultural, non-commercial purposes.
- Non-specified cases and disputes
The Entertainment Society of Goa/Short Film Center Pre - selection committee or its representative will settle all non-specified cases within the terms of the present regulations and may allow special dispensation regarding justified and specific requests.
- Miscellaneous
- Participation in the Short Film Center implies acceptance without reservation of all the terms/decisions of Short Film Center, committees appointed by it, and the Entertainment Society of Goa, outlined in the present regulations.
- The Entertainment Society of Goa/Short Film Center committee or its representative reserve the right to cancel any submission or take any suitable measure in the event of a breach of regulations or in response to any behaviour disturbing the course of the Festival.
- In cases of several film registrations by one organization, the number of granted badges will be decided by the Entertainment Society of Goa/Short Film Center, depending on the presence of the directors at the Short Film Center.
Badges are strictly personal and under no circumstances may they be passed on to someone, lent or exchanged, at the risk of the offender losing all rights of access and without any reimbursement of the registration fees.
- In case of loss or theft, a new badge will be issued and invoiced at a rate of Rs.1, 500/-(USD 40). In case a Participant is barred, as laid down in these regulations, the said Participant would agree to return the badge or badges given to him if asked to do so by the organizers.
- Any infringement of these Rules and Regulations, as well as non-respect of security rules, public order and the police, can entail, at the Short Film Center's will, the immediate cancellation, temporary or permanent, of the Participant's badges, without any official warning or reimbursement of his/her participation fee, the total of which will remain the Short Film Center's. Where this is the case, the Participant is immediately required to return his/ her badge allowing access to the Short Film Center's zones.
- All fees payable to Entertainment Society of Goa/Short Film Center are non refundable under any/all circumstances.
- Responsibility of Jurisdiction
In case of litigation, only the courts of the city of Panaji, in Goa, India shall be competent and have jurisdiction.
